This workshop and panel discussion will forecast demographics in CMC's covered regions to prepare and optimize businesses to support their workforce and communities. It will also focus on building capacity to develop new equity-centered leadership skills.

Panelists:

- Dr. Denise Boston, Manager of the Equity & Restorative Practices Unit (ERPU)
- Dr. Denise Boston is the Equity and Restorative Practices Manager at Howard County Maryland Government’s Office of Human Rights and Equity. Dr. Boston leads strategic planning, training, and programmatic efforts to advance racial equity in the county. In 2021, she conducted a racial equity assessment to evaluate potential bias and barriers that hinder a sense of inclusion and belonging within county government and community at large. Dr. Boston collaborates with community stakeholders to infuse an equity leadership lens in decision-making, community outreach, and restorative practices efforts. The findings and recommendations are in the report Racial Equity Framework for Howard County: Launching a Comprehensive Approach.
- Dr. Pamela Brown, Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth and Families (LMB)
- Dr. Pamela Brown is currently the Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children, Youth and Families. She has held several leadership positions over the past 30 years; in government and in the not-for-profit sector. Throughout her career she has worked on addressing inequities across government and educational systems. She completed her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University. Her dissertation focused on the importance of community partnerships in low income neighborhoods to improve outcomes for children and families. She has been conducting community needs assessments for over 25 years.
