EXPECTATIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS

Expectations for Full and Interactive Participation from Everyone
Your engagement is being designed with sensitivity to the unique remote working conditions many are experiencing right now. We understand many of you may be juggling kids, spouses, pets, and perhaps in-laws sharing your work-from-home space. We’re doing all we can to honor and respect this as we work through our design.
The following outline includes some of our basic expectations so you can begin to plan accordingly:
- Each micro-session is live and interactive. Learning is NOT a passive activity; our sessions are interactive; come prepared to actively participate in breakout groups and forum discussions
- It’s expected that everyone participates with both audio AND video.
- By joining the session, you’re expected to participate and engage fully for its duration. Given the interactivity of the session, dropping in and out of them is unacceptable as this may impact the learning experience of others.
- Connect to the session early enough to check-in, ensure your connection and technology are working, etc. The session will open 15 minutes prior to the start time to provide time for solving any technology issues and allow for informal connection time.
- It’s highly recommended that you connect directly through your home network and NOT through your organization's network/VPN to avoid firewall and bandwidth issues.
Please realize these are expectations and not absolute requirements. We understand kids and pets will pop in during this new normal of our current world and that’s okay. We simply ask you take a moment to get them situated and return to engaging in the session.
Although using video is an expectation, we request you treat it as a requirement and solve for it if needed to the extent possible. We believe very strongly in the connection video enables in a live online scenario. Our goal is to have all eyes see all eyes, just as though we were in person.
