Crownsville, Maryland, USA, July26, 2013—Maryland Therapeutic Riding (MTR) announces Ricky Skaggs as the headliner for its 13th Annual “Live on the Farm Benefit Concert”, Friday, September 27, 2013. Ricky Skaggs is a Grammy-Award winning country music legend. Local favorites The Hard Travelers will open the concert.
As MTR’s largest fundraiser, this annual event has raised over $2 million throughout its twelve year history. Nearly 80% of operations are funded through community support making this fundraiser critical to MTR programs that improve the quality of life for children and adults with special needs and disabilities. This event has received rave reviews over the years and this year’s concert will not disappoint.
Sponsors to date include The Muse Foundation, Booz Allen Hamilton Engineering Services, PNC Bank, Tower Federal Credit Union, Coldwell Banker and Merrill Lynch. Sponsorship opportunities range from $2,500 to $25,000. VIP tickets are $125 per person. Sponsors and VIP ticket holders enjoy a pre-concert cocktail reception, artists meet and greet, and premiere reserved seating. General admission tickets are $65 per person.
Proceeds from the event provide life-changing experiences that empower the mind, strengthen the body and lift the human spirit. With the help of more than 150 volunteers each week, MTR provides nearly 3,500 riding hours annually for those with disabilities ranging from Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome, Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis as well as veterans and wounded service personnel dealing with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, Depression, Anxiety, and Amputation. MTR’s Live on the Farm Benefit Concert is a wonderful way to come together to help those in the community who need our help the most.
