Welcome from New CMC President & CEO, Kristi Simon

Dear Chamber and Community Members,

I am honored to serve as the next President & CEO of the Central Maryland Chamber of Commerce. As the Voice of Business in Central Maryland, the Central Maryland Chamber has an outstanding reputation serving Maryland’s robust business community in our region and beyond. I am excited to work with Chamber members, leadership, key stakeholders, and regional partners to build upon the Chamber’s reputation as the preeminent business membership organization.

With many years of experience in non-profit management and working for small businesses in the private sector, it is important to me that the Chamber is accessible and offers value to our members. We seek to advocate for the business community, keep you informed with timely news and information, and always be building our arsenal of resources to help our members succeed. We strive to provide networking and volunteer opportunities, access to cost-saving affinity programs, create valuable business connections and more to be your partner in business.
In my short time with with the Chamber, it has been a pleasure to get to know members of the executive committee, board of directors and staff, who are working to represent business interests and support the needs of the membership. While our in-person events may have been temporarily postponed, the Chamber team is still hard at work behind the scenes gathering valuable information to share and partnering with local, state and national organizations to keep abreast of the rapidly changing business environment.

I have also been impressed with just how incredible our Chamber is! Our roster features a diverse and innovative list of businesses large and small from a wide variety of industry sectors. In addition, CMC represents colleges and universities, medical institutions, non-profit organizations and government entities who serve the central Maryland region.

As I get to know each of you, I hope you will join me in the journey and get to know more about each other. Take this opportunity to connect with members you haven't met before, strengthen member to member partnerships, and look into programs the Chamber offers that may be new to you. I look forward to speaking with many more of you as I settle into my role and appreciate the warm welcome and support that I have received.
This is an exciting time for central Maryland, and the Chamber is well positioned to develop new and exciting opportunities for businesses from across our region to engage, interact, and lead. This is also an incredibly difficult time for businesses nationwide, as we struggle with COVID-19 and the impact it has, and will continue to have on the business community. We will work collaboratively to build a stronger Chamber, community, and Central Maryland region.

Please reach out with your ideas and suggestions, or just to say hello! Our team is accessible and ready to assist you during this time. You can also keep up to date on all the events, services and resources the Chamber offers by subscribing to our newsletter, logging on to our website, and following us on social media. Whether you've been a member for many years or are brand new to the organization, there is always something new to learn.
Thank you for the opportunity to be of service to you.

Sincerely,

Kristi Simon
